“The sins of the father…”

Democrat hopeful Ameena Matthews is finding out what this old saying means as she tries to win a seat in the Illinois House of Representatives.

Ameena Matthews is a Muslim.

Not that it should matter what religion she is—like the surrounding states of Minnesota and Michigan, Illinois has a growing and flourishing Muslim community, and there’s nothing wrong with that…

But there’s a reason we’ve pointed this fact out.

However, before we get to that, we wanted to talk about Islam for a moment.

There’s a reason why America—and the rest of the Western world— are at odds with the more extreme followers of Islam …

To them, our existence is a slight against their god, Allah.

The Western world was built off Christian ideologies – and the two religions have had issues since the beginning of Islam, some 600 years after the death of Jesus Christ.

To them, the Western world is evil. It’s the realm of the devil – and any violence perpetrated against it is a blow struck to Satan, or Shayatin, and a victory for Heaven.

However…

Only 18% of the religion’s adherents have those kinds of beliefs. The other 82% of the world’s Muslims are peaceful and beautifully spiritual people.

However, when there are almost two billion followers of Islam, 18% of their number is almost the population of the entire United States—or roughly 350 million people.

Why is this important when it comes to talking about Ameena Matthews?

Well, her father is part of that 18 % of radicalized members of the religion.

Does The Apple Fall Far Or Close To The Tree?

You may not have ever heard of Abdul Malik Ka’bah…

But if you lived in Chicago, the name may ring a bell.

Ka’bah, then known as Jeff Fort, established one of the biggest street gangs in the city of Chicago. He then broke off a good number of those members into a subsect of the gang after he converted to Islam, and this splinter group took the name “El Rukn Tribe of the Moorish Science Templar of America” and then a simplified version, “El Rukn Sunni Masjid al-Malik.”

Not that this has to be explained when talking about former gang members, but they’re a militant arm of the religion.

From there, it gets worse…

Ka’bah, as head of El Rukn Sunni Masjid al-Malik, offered to conduct terrorist activity in the United States on behalf of Libya for the price of $2.5 million and an influx of weapons.

When that was added to his drug trafficking and murder charges – Ka’bah was sentenced to 168 years in prison in 1987.

And now, all these years later…

His daughter, Ameena Matthews, a Sunni Muslim herself, is working to become a member of the Illinois State Legislature.

Begging the question…

Is she just a strong woman of color looking to make a difference in this world, looking to do good for constituents?

Or…

Is she TRULY her father’s daughter and looking to change things to best institute her religion’s tenants here in America?

Time Will Tell

Will she allow the Constitution to rule her judgment?

Or will she bow to the leadership of her religion?

The truth is…

Ameena Matthews has not shown any of her father’s extremism. Her history in political activism has been reasonable and tame…

However, the question we have to ask with somebody that close to somebody with extreme views is this: Is she truly the opposite of her father?

Or…

Is she just good at hiding what she is?

For now…

She gets the pass. She hasn’t shown any extremist views that we can find – and we hope she’s elevated herself above her father’s criminality and hatred and carved her own path.

This is America, after all…

Where you should be seen as innocent until PROVEN guilty.

Just wish the Left lived by this credo too.
