If there is one thing Congresswoman Alexandria-Ocasio Cortez is good at, it is costing New Yorkers their jobs.

As you may recall, the young socialist’s rhetoric was partly to blame for Amazon reversing their decision to put a second headquarters in AOC’s district in Queens.

The corporate behemoth would have brought with it 25,000 new jobs and an average salary of $150,000, but AOC quickly put an end to that in the name of her socialist agenda.

At the time, Ocasio-Cortez celebrated her role in forcing Amazon to reverse its decision:

“Anything is possible: today was the day a group of dedicated, everyday New Yorkers and their neighbors defeated Amazon’s corporate greed, its worker exploitation, and the power of the richest man in the world.”

However, the majority of New Yorkers favored the Amazon headquarters moving to NYC. Roughly 56% of New Yorkers approved of the deal.

AOC really hates those evil corporations that have the audacity to want to earn money while at the same time adding thousands of jobs to her community. She’s so brave for standing up for the cause of unemployment.

Now, AOC has cost workers jobs yet again.

Admittedly, she didn’t directly cause them to be taken away this time, but she is at fault indirectly.

AOC’s socialist-inspired climate plan—the Green New Deal— calls for the complete reorganization of the American economy in the name of reversing the effects of climate change.

In reality, the Green New Deal is just a Soviet-era plan for social control cloaked in environmental policy.

Her plan calls for the elimination of all fossil fuel energy in the United States. That includes oil and natural gas.

The Green New Deal would eliminate all cars, trucks, and planes, and do a complete environmentally-friendly overhaul of every single building—residential, commercial, and industrial—in the country.

The government would also provide healthy food to everyone and eliminate the consumption of meat (because farting cows produce too much methane…or something).

The government would also guarantee jobs that include a “family-sustaining wage, family and medical leave, vacations and a pension.”

This plan sounded so good that a group of electricians employed by Bright Power Company in New York was inspired to form a union to achieve the goals of the Green New Deal.

The employees rallied around a common goal, formed a union, and proposed a contract that would have paid them a salary of $56 an hour.

In response, the company promptly told them their services were no longer needed and fired every single one of them.

Vice News reported that, “In April, a group of New York City construction workers, inspired by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s vision for a Green New Deal, voted to form one of the first unions in the solar industry.

On Monday, their employer Bright Power fired its entire in-house construction crew and announced that those workers, in the midst of negotiations for their contract, would be replaced with subcontractors.”

Of course, the workers were upset.

One of the workers told the publication Motherboard that “This is obviously retaliation for union organizing… the total hypocrisy of their progressive mission as a green energy company is disgusting. They did everything what a big bad union-busting company does.

This is exactly what a coal company or any other evil company does.”

He sounds like an AOC follower, always blaming big business for the evils of the world.

But the truth is that they brought it on themselves by subscribing to AOC’s ideas…even when those ideas led them right off the edge of a cliff.

Thanks in part to AOC, the unemployment line just got a little bit longer.
