The “future of the Democratic Party,” Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez may not have much of a future in politics ahead of her. She may be denied the opportunity to be the torchbearer for the radical socialist movement within the Democratic Party.

Because she may be going to jail.

It’s hard to be the leader of a movement when you are locked up behind bars.

The usually sanctimonious Cortez is unusually silent on charges that she committed Federal Election violations.

Ocasio-Cortez and her chief of staff, Saikat Chakrabarti, are facing allegations that they committed a crime by failing to disclose their dual leadership in Justice Democrats, her campaign PAC, and her campaign.

It is a violation of campaign finance law for a candidate to control their campaign and PAC (political action committee).

The Daily Caller reported:

“Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her chief of staff Saikat Chakrabarti obtained majority control of Justice Democrats PAC in December 2017, according to archived copies of the group’s website, and the two appear to retain control of the group, according to corporate filings obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation. If the Federal Election Commission (FEC) finds that the New York Democrat’s campaign operated in affiliation with the PAC, which had raised more than $1.8 million before her June 2018 primary, it would open them up to ‘massive reporting violations, probably at least some illegal contribution violations exceeding the lawful limits,’ former FEC commissioner Brad Smith said.”But wait, there’s more.

“Ocasio-Cortez’s campaign and Justice Democrats raised a combined $4.6 million during the 2018 midterm election cycle, FEC records show. There’s a maximum five-year prison sentence for anyone who knowingly and willfully receives a collective $25,000 or more in excessive campaign contributions in a single calendar year. Justice Democrats raked in far more than $25,000 from individual contributors of over $2,700 after Ocasio-Cortez and Chakrabarti took control, according to FEC records.”

Could AOC’s 15 minutes be up, already?

Time will tell. But it doesn’t look good.

Her chief of staff, Chakrabarti, is also facing serious charges for allegedly laundering $1,000,000 into his private businesses from Ocasio-Cortez’s campaign contributions.

Politics is big business after all.

Ocasio-Cortez has no problem with people making money through the political process; it’s those evil businessmen who make it through capitalism — those people she has a problem with.

But wait, there’s more!

Ocasio-Cortez’s boyfriend may have received illegal payments from her campaign. Her boyfriend did some digital marketing work for her campaign. Instead of the campaign paying him directly, they paid through a third-party — her PAC.

If it was legal, then why not just pay him directly? What do they have to hide?

Looks like Cortez and her posse may have had a little racketeering crime operation shop set up at Cortez Campaign Headquarters.

I am sure the mainstream media will report vigorously on AOC’s alleged election finance violations as they have about President Trump’s alleged violations.

Probably not.

She is the new media darling. She must be protected at all costs. If it is clearly evident that she committed a crime, then the media will make excuses for her. They will say she was young and ignorant about campaign laws. They will spin it to make her look innocent of any nefarious plot.

She will undoubtedly play the “victim” card and or the “ditsy young woman” card. She just didn’t know there were such things as campaign laws.

Like, what? Really? Seriously? I had no idea that there were laws about campaign finances. OMG!

We will see if that defense pays off or not.

Her 15 minutes of fame and socialist utopian dreams may be up.

But don’t hold your breath. The media have no journalistic standards.
